Directions to Our Practice
If you’ve never been to our practice before, here are two easy routes you could take:
- Take Conway Ave north out of town, then turn right onto Buddy Owens Blvd. Continue east 4.3 miles. Across the street from the sports park, right after you pass 33rd St, turn left into our parking lot. We’re at 3220 Buddy Owens Blvd suite 100.
- Alternatively, you could take U.S. Business 83 east out of town. Turn left onto Ware Rd and continue north to Buddy Owens Blvd. Turn right, then watch for us coming up on your left after the 33rd St intersection.

The town of Mission grew around the old mission at La Lomita, and the settlement was originally named La Lomita after it. The way the city got its current name was when the post office was established in 1908. The name “Lomita” was already taken, so they had to choose something else.
Right in our neighborhood, up against the border with Mexico, is the National Butterfly Center, a place that offers a truly unique experience for nature enthusiasts. Unlike indoor butterfly conservatories found elsewhere in the United States, the Center features expansive outdoor gardens filled with native nectar plants, caterpillar host plants, and preserved natural habitats. This environment attracts a wide variety of wild butterflies while also supporting the conservation of rare native species.
Since opening, the National Butterfly Center has become a hotspot for remarkable butterfly sightings, including species never before recorded in the United States. Its close proximity to Mexico and the Rio Grande allows for an incredible diversity of butterflies to thrive. In fact, more than 300 species have been found in the Rio Grande Valley, with over 200 species observed right at the Center.
Beyond its breathtaking butterfly displays, the National Butterfly Center is actively restoring its land with rare native plants. Visitors can explore and learn about the native flora and fauna of the Rio Grande Valley, making it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in the region’s rich natural heritage.
